Two weeks! Actually, we had a "panic mode" period, but we seem to be sort of beyond that now. Is that a good sign, or not??
We just had a wonderful weekend with some other brothers and sisters from Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas, at an out-in-the-woods gathering at Meramec State Park, Missouri. It was great to see some folks we haven't seen for awhile. And it turns out that we may see some of the other attendees in South Africa while we're there, which will be great!
Packing has begun, or at least setting aside things to pack. Classes have been prepared for the first few weeks we're there. Still not sure exactly what will happen when we hit Durban, but we'll find out when we get there!
Mostly, we're just really excited. We are thankful for this opportunity, and we pray that God will do good in us, and through us.

Plans progressing
We are now vaccinated against Hep A, Hep B, typhoid, tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. (Actually, we have to get another Hep B shot in late October.)
Plans for our first 3 weeks in SA are firming up. First 2 weeks will be in Joburg area, working with two Bible Education Centres (BECs). The second weekend Paul will be the speaker Fri-Sat-Sun at a fraternal gathering in Yeoville. Then to Port Elizabeth for a week, where Paul will be put to work again with leading classes. Jane is expecting she won't be left out - plenty of children to help out with, for example.
Arrival in Durban is planned for 1 Dec. We heard from Leah & Dan Egginton, who are involved in a ton of different things. Good thing we'll have 6 weeks of overlap with them! During that time they will transition the work to us, before they go home to Australia.
